Truly amazing UncleMax27! You deserve some serious props for defending this amazing band. I have most of their tracks and I cant get over how many people spew hate on originality. If any of them even tried to listen they would understand this song is talking about how people just like them idolize the old and dont give anything new and innovative a chance. THEY are doing just what this song is talking about! Giving shit to new music to idolize zeppelin! Sad.

Ok, let's uh... Let's get something straight here. MSI isn't speaking out against Jimmy Page with this song. We all acknowledge it, he was a God. IN HIS TIME. Now it's time for new stuff. The point of this song is to stop the Page copy cats. And, let's get this on the record; "My whole shit will never last". They don't want people copying them either. Guys, it's a new generation... Let's crank out something new.. That's all they're trying to say.

@WizardOnAcid7 Youtube doesn't like posting links in comments, but here's where that quote came from: shoutweb [dot] com/interviews/msi0500.phtml

@WizardOnAcid7 So I suppose MSI doesn't meet your definition of "musician" since they don't "get" you? In a Jimmy Urine interview he mentioned this song, quote: "It's like great, I'm sure we all wouldn't be doing what we're doing if Led Zeppelin hadn't written this song, and if the Beatles hadn't done that. Let's move on. I mean even with the Sex Pistols shit, it's like alright the Sex Pistols did their thing. Why would you want to do Sex Pistols Part 2?"

@WizardOnAcid7 You CAN learn from that stuff, and many people do it and it works for them. MANY people like the Papa Roach and Nickelback's of the world just rip off the old stuff and never advance or change or move on. But if you'll notice, Mindless Self Indulgence isn't exactly "rock" music. Their albums have alternately taken elements from Metal, Industrial, Jungle, Rap, and Electronica. They're definitely doing their own thing, which is what this entire song is about.

@WizardOnAcid7 Jimmy Page is like Bach or Beethoven in that they are good at what they do, but not a necessary basis for any modern bands. Bands should learn from 50's music? Why? To reinvent things that have been done to death already? So we can have another revival?
This whole song is focused on taking your own path, stealing ideas from the future rather than going back to the well of the past. I'm pretty sure entire genres exist that didn't spring from the 50s music scene.
