  • jerry,in all fairness ,what makes you think you have to kill people to get results? Why on earth would you think a gas mask helps anyone? These types of workouts are a sign the coach knows next to nothing about strength and conditioning.,Virtually nobody would be able to do that workout at high intensity,it would destroy their ability to do any skill training ,mma is a skill intense sport,in fact for most no strength and conditioning outside mma training is needed.

  • @scarred10 I think most people will agree your comments are are so far off the mark. 1. This would not be done inconjunction with skill training. 2. A gas mask is highly effective if used correctly. 3. This routine tests mental strength and endurance(a must in MMA) 4. If you think no S and C is needed for MMA then I have no words to describe your ignorance. Really and truthfully I have no idea why I even wasted my time responding to this comment - Good luck Scarred10!!

  • Don't you train your back? Don't you train your triceps?

  • @celermail Hi there. I train every body part. I very rarely isolate specific muscle groups however. The exercises in this video target the entire body. Do this workout and tell me if any part of your body feels like it hasn't had a workout. I look forward to the feedback my friend. All the best. With Energy, Jerry

  • wy that gas mask

  • @Profownd lad ,ive a masters degree in sports rehab and a first degree in ex phys and then worked in the field for 10 yrs,i completely understand.Exercise with the mask does not improve cardio,it decreases its effectiveness.Contrary to what noobs on youtube believe it doesnt simulate altitude training(which doesnt actally work anyway that well)

  • @scarred10 True, mma is a skill sport, but if you meet someone with the same skill set or who can keep you out of your comfort zone then your cardiovascular fitness and resilience to fatigue will amplify your effectiveness. In the army we PT with gas masks sometimes to improve cardio...it helps. It is a taxing workout, but it is obviously not a beginner workout, this is definitely a plateau breaker for someone who doesn't feel challenged. I'm not disagreeing...just...try to understand. TY

  • @JerrySargeant your right dude,,

  • @JerrySargeant your right dude,,

  • Tried this routine for the first time. My conclusion: my stamina is in the friggin' toilet, LMAO! I really need to boost it. So I'll stick to this routine until I can get through all 5 rounds with max intensity.

Oh, to give some indication of my athletic capabilities: I surf, bike, run, swim, and practice aikido (also weapons training).

  • bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla bla

  • @Rian07 some of the very best mma coaches in the world dont understand strength and conditioning so hes in good company.Ive competed in combat sports for 27 yrs,itf tkd, boxing, thai boxing and bjj and some mma in the last 5 yrs(the only 1 i havent fought pro rules in).

  • @eastcoastbjj physios are university educated professionals,id be listening to them rather than some mma coach if they had specialist training in sport

  • honestly mate you need to stick to being a uni degree wagging your tale expert, Jerry Sergeant is a well respected MMA trainer/coach and has one of the best fighters in Dan Digby under his wing 2 questions 1. have you fought 2. do you train fighters...I'm an aspiring fighter myself out of the same country as them NZ. So I understand the reasoning behind why jerry and ECBJJ have responded in such a manner big ups to this video im gonna try it at Fightshop this week...
