this was one of the first blues songs i've heard as a young kid ... needless to say i was hooked to the blues ever since !!! my fav blues album of all time

this song is almost too depressing for me to listen to. it applies to me way too much. nothing like your first love, even if they hurt you... it's been about 6 years and i still have the dream all the time, no matter who my girlfriend is. i wonder if she ever has the dream? doubt it.

this is one of the baddest tunes i have ever heard..since I first heard it back in the 80's..the singing is superb, Collins guitar rips right thru you and the lyrics...ah the lyrics...If you have ever been thru "the dream" u know exactly what they are saying....Unbelievable!

Like "Air" I asked Robert to do it at Hammersmith - he did the "All she left me was a dream" line and said that his voice wouldn't make it that night.
I remember buying the album, taking it round my friend's house for the precious "first listen" - there was 4 of us and we just sat transfixed for the lenghth of the album. sigh.....I feel old...

Nice job with this! Man, I'd give about anything to hear this song live. I asked Albert to play it at one of his shows and he said it was Robert's song. I hollered for Robert to play it at his show and he literally just said "no" from the stage.
