Why is it important to know the difference? I think everyone would always stir a can after opening it, and then they both work like they are supposed to.

if you put finishing on plastic how do you get it off

If I can't see the bottom of the can I try and find another colorant
I so agree with this video!

What? Dyes versus stains? Dyes ARE stains. Here's how it works: there are two types of coloring media (not including chemical stains and their mordants): dyes AND pigments. Dyes are solutions and thgey color from within the wood cell. Pigments have to remain in suspension (they must be stirred) and unless micronized, they generally sit on top of the wood surfaces. Pigments need a liquid media and a binder to adhere the color to the wood. The liquid media is either solvent or waterbased.

Thanks again Mr Neil !! Get info !
love kid...its often very difficult to get finish off of plastic...depending on the finish...if its a shellac or lacquer base it will eat in and it there for ever..if its water based or oil based ..usually it will peel off once dry...it just hard to say without knowing what finish you have..try some goof off...if it doesnt remove it...it probably is there for good...
