Part I of II.
MMZ2 isn't really on the same level of difficulty its progenitor barraged us with, but I'm of a seemingly minority opinion that it's the better game. The stages are more inventive and more easy to differentiate between, and the bosses, short of the final encounter, are easily more entertaining. The final boss is a disappointment, but he's also got the meanest scream this side of Roger Daltrey.
Anyway, on to the challenge. This is basically the equivalent of my other boss rushes with MMZ2's system in mind. I play through these bosses on hard mode, and use only the basic (obviously) Z-sabre. No elemental chips or forms are equipped, nor are elves or subtanks used. I also take no damage in the fights.
And hell, I even maintained that S rank sifting through the stages this time.
Individual boss comments:
Hyleg Ourobockle: Surprisingly complicated battle for so early in the game. Of course nothing he can do is EFFECTIVE, but it's numerous nonetheless. You'll probably notice I play around a lot in the easier battles (or let bosses show off all they can do in the others) to give something to this showcase. Hopefully it doesn't come across as annoying.
Poler Kamrous: The day a Mega Man game contains a fat ice boss posing actual challenge is the day I know the franchise has died.
Phoenix Magnion: A little off how such an early boss is one of the hardest the game has to offer. He's a bigger jerk than Fefnir- in either of his forms. Most of his attacks have consistent dodge tactics, but that doesn't stop them from being a massive pain. His deadliest is when he splits into four. You have a very short span of time in which to connect with the right one, and there's no way of knowing. Also of note are when he combines a charge or his EX attack with those bloody fire pillars from the floor. He has another attack I let him play with once.
Panter Flauclaws: This guy is quite difficult and insanely cool. Slash Beast can eat a dick. It's important to always keep a wary distance from Flauclaws in between his attacks while you're going slash happy. It's completely random which he'll decide to use, and getting caught in an impromptu lunge or dual purple blades is not uncommon. Once you've learned the flow of him, though, it's easy to mess with the guy at your leisure. Just don't push it.
Kuwagust Anchus: Noteworthy only for his infamous EX attack. It's more than dodgeable with the Z Sabre. Give yourself at least 60% leeway from the opposite side of the screen, and face it. As soon as he's about two 'Zeros' away from, uh, Zero, slash your sabre and then immediately dash forward. He'll be prompted into flying clean over your head.
Burble Hekelot: I hate this boss. I hate his design, I hate his boring battle, I hate the stupid noises he makes, and I hate frogs. Except, y'know, Frog. I starve him for a while, then let him gorge his stupid face. Sort of a last meal mentality.
Capcom's Fabulous "Fighting" Fefnir: What's with the sketchy prefix Guardian names this time around? Fefnir isn't notably different from his first incarnation. They also gimped his EX attack, though it's still a pain on its own terms.
"Fairy" Leviathan: Either that prefix is the most indirect insult to X's sexuality that I've ever heard, or it's more incomprehensible Capcom nomenclature. Leviathan has a few new tactics and a few more allusions to the fact that Capcom was devoid of boss imagination by Mega Man 9.
"Sage" Harpuia: Harpuia is probably my favorite battle in the game and a real challenge left to his devices. Most of his attacks are painfully specific to avoid, although he still allows you the luxery of interrupting him at any given time. His EX attack shouldn't catch you off guard, but it does. I let things get about as hectic as they can, although keep in mind it takes a blind monkey to stop his missiles and lightning from ever seeing the light of day.
He also reveals himself as a rather off-kilter masochist. Natch.

Yes. He uses it past half-health and it's a more dangerous version of his usual feint.
