  • I was perfectly satisfied with this video unti the narrator mentioned the C.S.S. Merrimac. There is no such thing as the "C.S.S. Merrimac" I wonder if what he was refering to is anything like the C.S.S. Virginia.

  • Only the Axis Powers of WW2 sank more American ships than the Confederacy. Hundreds of Federal ships were sunk during the war, even after Lee's surrender at Appomattox. Commerce raiders crippled New England shipping and key naval battlegrounds would be contested throughout the war. This was done despite the fact that the Federal Navy was made up of purpose build warships, while the Confederate Navy was almost exclusively modified civilian ships and recovered shipwrecks. Sic semper Tyrannis.
