When I entered the text into terminal, it said [sudo]password for matt(me) but it wouldn't let me enter anything.

when terminal asks for you to enter your password you just enter it normally.

but the letters of your password will NOT show in terminal (this is normal)

so enter your password normally and press enter

ffs been using this stupid fucking operating system for like 3 hours so far and NOTHING works. maybe its just me, but im trying to breathe some new life into a friends old laptop but at this rate im gonna smash the fucken thing coz ubuntu doesnt seem to want to do anything its supposed to do.

i dont have the 3d windows and cube reflection or half the effects u do - im runnning ubuntu 11.04 please help, this is incredibly frustrating. thanks in advance

Thanks bro..Really!!! ty...I have been trying this for like a month and could never get it right.Thanks it worked out for me... :) I got the circle though kind of cube but its all good Im on a asus ee pc just one of those 1 gig of ram and it works on it :) Im sure if I tweak with it I could get the cube but I like this one for now.
