to find the capacity of the mag without counting them individually you could use a bb of a set weight put them in the mag dump it out get the weight of all the bb's then divide it by the weight of a single bb

Dude, just get an electronic scale, and lay a container on it. Zero the scale and dump the bbs into the container. Divide the number by the bb weight. Voilà. Instant number of bbs
