@mia07 the movies was called 馬路天使（Street Angels) released in 1937. The actor playing the Charlie Chaplin character was 周丹 （Zhou Dan). The movie had a lot of humor, but in typical Chinese style, its was many naive and simple character living in depressing circumstances. It was a way for the film makers to create entertainment, but make social commentary for their time.
