  • The third living survivor John Bradley, also had PTSD, Look them up and read their stories on wikipedia.

  • Ira Hayes, the Native America, but as many put it back then "are you the Indian who raised the flag on Iwo Jima?". Hayes died as a drunk found dead, lying in his own blood and vomit, near an abandoned adobe hut in Sacation, Az. The police did not conduct an investigation into Hayes' death, just another dead dunk Indian.

  • I found out that the ones that lived were "heroes", but do you know what happen to them. PTSD, that's what. Rene Gagnon, lived out his life working at menial jobs. (sounds just like someone that has PTSD). His last job was working as a janitor at an apartment complex.

  • It brought tears to my eyes, the reason for this, I had just did some research on the brave Marines that were a part of raising our flag at Iwo Jima.

  • @okadalekid he never clained the song for hmself. hank williams, bill anderson and others have also done this old tex ritter song. this kid just did it up as a beautiful visual story, yd

  • Thank you so very much...our Dad who just passed on 06 Jan 2012 was a US Marine Iwo Jima Survivor. He lived his life in God's way and now is with our Mother in GOD's LIGHT.

  • Great video! Well done!

  • One of the best video's that I have ever seen. Loved it! Very touching! Thank you for posting!

  • @okadalekid He says that he doesn't take credit for the story and that he heard it for the first time from a recording in the late 50's.

  • Thanks GMS3852 you are absolutely right Wink Martindale actually did it first.
