Archos players in gadget magazines and thought that they look really nice and can store lots of data. Not too mention the cost; when you compare the size of the device and storage space, its such good value when you compare it to other media players like the iPods.

I have but one grumble with the player and that is how Archos has "locked" a few of the file formats so that if you want to play them, you have to pay for the codec. Granted, its only an extra $30, but it is a bit annoying.

I had read many reviews of this player before i bought it and they all seem either really good or bad.....
Well all i can say is the player is fantastic!
The touchscreen is responsive, the storage capacity is amazing, the media format playlist (once youve got the extra codecs) is unrivaled by any other player and the battery life is significant! I recently had over 5hrs of video playing on the player before is started to die, when Archos only recommends 4hrs playback.

If like me, your not an Apple fan and are looking for a device to play videos and music, while also accessing the internet; i recommend this player!
Best gadget buy ive bought!

I hate Archos, I got the 120GB Archos 5 model and every time I put a new video on it it tells me I need to pay for a fucking plug-in just to watch it, i have to pay more fucking money just to watched a video on my archoss, its terrible, even my psp dosnt have that problem

the only reason one should buy this is because of the hdd. that is obviously the killer feature. there are tons of way faster, more stable devices out there if you're only looking for 32gigs. but i don't understand why anything above 32gb is not even remembered anymore by these device makers and am left with the archos as the best choice for hdd space and video playback.

I've just ordered mine on amazon... it's the 250gb also. I've heard of crashing and things magically deleting. Do you have any of those problems?

the headbox dont work you have to press the shell to make it work every hour hanging Constant crashes (Do not wake up) always reset push button automatic standby after 20 min ,deathly! for me absolutely not usable Fm-Transmitter only usable with Headset Radio dont work good problems as an example Archos 605 WIFI Keep away of cheap Products :-( Dirty france Archos are cheaters and support are is unfriendly.bye bye Archos
