T'was filmed at the Vangard on the 23rd of December 2006. However, the reason you don't know it is probably because it's not a Whitlams song. It's a Randy Newman song. Tim loves Randy Newman and covers his songs often. I'm Different is a Randy Newman cover. Tim/The Whitlams cover Short People quite a bit live. Funny song.

My bad; I thought I remembered Newman introducing this as being from Avalon when I saw him a few years ago, but it seems I misremembered. Thanks for the correction.

okay, so this is a whole year later, but actually, this song is off randy newmans album good old boys which was released in 1974, a good 16 years before the movie avalon came out...

Definitely a Randy Newman tune, but Tim got his vocals and arrangement from a Kenny Rankin album. The vocals are pretty close to dead on, but Rankin has an amazing silky voice. Amazon has a little clip on the "Inside" album.

But it was written for another movie, Avalon. It was later used for Paulie. (Both are movies worth seeing.)

ohh sweet! very cool.i do know a bit of newman stuff like short people! but i just hadn't heard that one! i think randy is great...i also love his film work too!
