Just some short video showing how to create some Normalmaps from a Texture source. You can download the Normalmap plugin from here: http://developer.nvidia.com/object/photoshop_dds_plugins.html
I'm trying to get a better English pronunciation, seems like I still have problems with the words "blur" and "height" etc. but oh well. If something is unclear don't hesitate to ask!
Anyway, hope you like this tutorial!

I usually get Textures from this page:
http://cgtextures.com/
the one used in this video is under concrete- Floor

  • what do you save the image as?. how do you export the normal map?

  • @irvin390 You can save it in any format you wish, its just like any other image. If you are using it in some graphics engine you should check what formats it supports, e.g. the cryengine prefers .tif files (the have their own exporter for cry tif).

  • Tried 32 and 64 bit, neither will install, error code 6005.

  • @Killadey which version of Photoshop are you using?

  • @BelYo okay checked again, seems to be a problem with the installshield setup there are a bunch of search results on google mentioning that problem, perhaps you could check them out.

  • It turned out really shiny ingame. How do i prevent that?

  • @ludvig1008 by using a custom specular map.
