just to be clear, these are the recycled chopsticks used in takeout? just probably compacted together with a machine press or something giving a tight and compacted rigid quality.

If that's the case why claim 2000 chopsticks? Unless it took them 2000 tries. Seems more like they would have just reduced the chop sticks to pulp, let it solidify into the general shape, then carve, shave, and smooth out the details.
