if the bible is ambiguous and incoherent it makes total sense that you would see it that way. the bible says it would be foolishness to those who do not have the spirit of God. read 1 cor 2:18-31

as far as apperant contradictions, ive told you before that you have to look at the bible as a whole. if you jump back and forth i can totally see how it appears contradictory. to be honest with you, i do not know everything there is to know about these things. but i am studying. just as im sure you would admit you dont understand everything about science so thats why you study.

You see, that's where we differ. My ethics are different from bronze-aged practices of the OT. Btw - thou shalt not kill!

Unfortunately, the US is one of the few countries left that still endorse death penalty. How sad!

Now you have broken the rules of logic!

How could Cain have broken a rule at a time when the rule had not been written down? If you meant, he had broken a rule written in his mind - well, I am sure he was not the first one to do so (according to the Bible Cain lived at about 6.000 years ago). BTW, science has debunked the historicity of Adam, Eve, Abel, Cain ...

Also the commandment of 'not killing' is not the same as the golden rule!

obviously the rule of loving your neigbor was in place if he was punished for killing his brother. you put too much faith in secular points of view when it comes to science.

wouldnt loving your neigbor come cover thou shalt not murder? you are nit-picking.

'if you would ... stop taking the view of the skeptics'

This is 'special pleading' for believing on say-so! You haven't given any intelligible argument why I should assume your claims and the claims of the Bible to be true.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence!

have you actually ever looked into evidence for it? i will gladly list some for you if you have not. if you have, you obviosly dont believe it so i wont waist my time.
