Champion eater Takeru Kobayashi competed in and won the first-ever Crif Dog Classic by eating 58.5 hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. Following extensive video review, the original count of 68.5 was revised due to an error counting hot dog plates.

The contest was officiated by http://RecordSetter.com yellow jacket officials including founders Dan Rollman and Corey Henderson.

The event took place on July 4th, 2012 at Roberta's Pizza in Brooklyn, New York.

Other eaters included "Furious Pete Czerwinski, Stephanie "Chilita" Torres, Pat "From Moonachie" Philbin, and "Tiger Wings and Things," Dave Brunelli.
