  • GMP are the only police force in the country to understand social media. When will other police forces such as the Met understand that with Twitter, Facebook, Youtube you have a captive audience who can help with enquiries? Furthermore, criminals are so bloody stupid they actually use it, even having public profiles on Facebook which are rich pickings for investigators I'm sure.

  • Of course it benefits. The criminals put information in the public space, on corporate servers, ripe for the picking. And communities of concerned citizens have been red-flagging fb pages and so on for a long time, if they come across them.
