XTC - All Along The Watchtower

i agree man, its a different concept deliver tot hat of jimi hendrix. The band stay true to their sound it is xtc's tower and its cool

It would be hard to make a more insolent, childish and irreverent gesture towards Bob Dylan than XTC did with this "cover", and that's just why I like it so much. Come to think of it: if the lyrics were different, this would have been a really brilliant groove song, but it gains a completely new dimension being done as a Dylan cover. It's obnoxious, infectious, AND it pisses off George Starostin. I love it BECAUSE it is bad. Maybe this is why Andy appeared on a Residents album?

Andy actually looks weird here compared to his looks later on. It isn't bad but I never thought he had messy hair like that, If you saw pictures of him or videos with him from a year after this was recorded (And especially 10 years later) It is a lot harder to recognize him as "That singer that sang All Along the Watchtower that night"

as a band, superlative artists. no matter who happened to join colin & andy at the time.
