This is my Wisconsin model ABN which was originally mounted on a Jacobsen lawn mower. The engine is equipped with a Wico mag and a commercial muffler. The exhaust is very quiet which really lets the mechanical noises come through.
Please forgive the wind noise in the first segment. I was rushed and could not wait for the wind to die down.
The wobbly look you may notice is a video artifact created by the Nikon's "rolling shutter" it makes things look like jello when horizontal or vertical movement happens too fast. The engine is not particularly well balanced and there was enough vibration to cause this effect.
The thing you may notice spinning around behind the rope spindle is a piece of leather which helps to sweep grass clippings off of the cooling air intake screen. Neat idea.
Thanks for watching.
Regards; Scott

  • wow I just got one of these, same clutch too. Got a few problems though, the sparkplug

is broken off in the head and also has a broken head bolt and missing the clutch engagement thing. What kind of spark plug does this take ? Is this engine worth fixing ?

  • Wesley5138 Congratulations on the find Wes. Champion D-16 or D-16J will do with .030 gap. The engine doesn't have much monetary value but Wisconsin engines are great to have around. They are made to run long hours under harsh conditions. They are dependable and are not like the consumer grade disposable engines that are widely produced today.

  • Do you know where there is a photo of a '30 Jacobsen Park 30'? My akn or bkn came from one of these and I have never seen one. My spark plug is vertical. Yours is angled. Don't know how to determine if akn or bkn. I don't have the bkn running yet still having problems with the carb.

  • @kenhilliard Hello kenhillard, I do not know the answer to your question but give me some time and I will see what I can find.

  • @ElijahWheeler No Idea Elija, check the forums and the lists. Good luck.

  • do you know where i can get a clutch for one of these cheap?

  • They sure put the flywheel mags on newer engines to shame. I would take the noise over the new junk any day!

  • i have one of these on my go cart hah they are great
