  • omg this is beautiful! I have so many questions, How long are you practicing? How did you start? You must really understand your budgies. I have a budgie, he is now 3.rd week with me, i cought him outside, he goes to my hand, and we are starting basic clicker training , but seems I am way more enthusiastic then him. He follows the stick and gains a prize. please help!

  • @thinkgreen1084 Don't try too hard, better have short sessions, finish when your bird looses interest. Don't put definite targets and time limits, regard it as a game, fun interaction with your bird, and you'll be amazed how fast he will learn. Start with simple tricks like waving hello, and then move to the other ones. Don't necesserily copy tricks that other birds do - see what your budgie likes and be inventive. You might look at my cockatiel tricks video for ideas. Good luck!

  • @ruta99 thnx! but how can I teach him to wawe or say hello? I touch his leg or ?

  • @thinkgreen1084 that's very easy. Just show a sign (whatever you want) to a budgie with one hand, while putting the finger of the other hand to the budgie as if for stepping up.The birdy lifts his leg, you move the finger away and reward him with a treat and praise :)

  • ~So cute & smart!~

  • Haha ! Awesome tricks :)

Mine is quite intelligent too. She repeats what I say, she says her name, she gives kisses, she comes when I call her... shes so sweet ! Shes always suuuper happy when someone comes close to the cage to talk to her. Shes also very curious and courageous. My parents bought her when I was a kid :P

    Budgies are cool pets :)

  • @collinator98 Two weeks is a very short time. Allow your bird to trust you fully, don;t rush with anything.
