Hey Eric thanks for the tip.
I own a wonderful Bjarne dublin and the bowl is freaking huge as the top of it is almost the size of a quarter and i took your advice it as this pipe always smoked a bit hot and i packed it alot tighter and the result was less gurgle, and a cooler overall smoke.

Eric,
I tried CH...think I like PA better, or maybe it was too dry. Thanks for your tip on air-pocket packing....worked great with Troost and a bulldog! Never tried it before.

Carter Hall Rocks! I have tried pipe tobacco from all over the world and I keep coming back to Carter Hall. It's just balanced and really tasty.Nothing else like it.

I found that even with my cheap drug store pipe with a medium to small bowl it would smoke hot too hot to even hold. I packed it tight and its smokes alot cooler and had no other problems with how its smokes.

You should see the almost 4 inch deep Mario Grandi I have. it scares me how hot it gets

@popecrisco consider moving on to better pipes, dr grabows are good for starting off, believe me i have about 5 of them, but almost 60 pipes later, they're just collecting dust now

I Really like carter Hall, Pretty good smoke! Just wish it didn't burn up so fast!

how did you like carter hall?

Thanks for the review. This is a lovely sweet mild burley tobacco with little or no biite. Thanks for recommending.

Carter Hall is a great all day smoke. I like it mixed 50/50 with Prince Albert when all I want to do is smoke. For the "other times" it's Stokkebye Lux Navy, Orlik Golden, Tuggle Hall or Sunjammer.
love the pipe, i have a couple savs that i love. I tend to go for medium large bowls myself, but even a smallish grabow has its place in my rotation.

Hard to go wrong with a Sav - been adding a lot of them to my collection lately.

Hello Eric,
it's nice to see you back on YouTube. And the pipe that you're smoking is a nice one. I like its rustication, too. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers
Lars
