If you leave the ink stick on the ink slate, it might stick together due to the glue.

@yanghaiyang after you grind your stone and finished, do you let the ink dry in the ink stone or do you clean it off?

@gotrice15278 Grinding ink is for using, so I use it up. If there is left over, I usually do not wash because: 1st, I am lazy; 2nd, it makes my sink black.

What does the ink do when the stick gets to the gold markings? Does it make the ink any different?

@Dancer4ever000 That tiny piece of gold colored marking is un-noticable. I have not yet seen any difference in ink.
