  • Vini would you happen to know if they still do open days at Newport Pagnell,or is that a thing of the past now the site is reduced in size?

  • @MrLeveLHeaded I'm afraid it's a thing of the past. The only visitors we get at service are customers etc. Gaydon, I believe still do factory tours but I'm not sure how you would go about this.

  • @ukspeedbag i got into aston martin yesterday! The was doing an auction

  • @AshMargrove I hope you enjoyed it. I popped in myself for half hour yesterday. ;-)

  • As an Aston enthusiast it hurts me to see this happen, however i feel more sorry for all those great tradesmen that have lost their jobs as a result of this closure, this is why Britain is in the state it's in,the best tradesmen in the world are not building anything anymore.

  • @MrLeveLHeaded Very true, but on the other hand Aston's are still being hand built in Gaydon. The service department (Works Service) in Newport Pagnell is still up and running and going strong with plans to improve the site.

Nice to hear from a fellow enthusiast, I work at Works Service specialising in Vanquish and have a super collection of model cars and memorabilia.

  • @ukspeedbag Yeah it was quite an experience... Im badly trying to talk my parents into moving there... I need more material! ;D

  • And who owns this historic site now ?

Birthplace of one of the worlds's most iconic cars -

Tesco's - and what do they want to build ? -

    a Supermarket !

    The future of Britain !

  • @ukspeedbag Ok thanks mate for the info.

  • @ukspeedbag ...How interesting,i did'nt know that, having only driven through Newport Pagnell recently, i've always loved Astons,i guess it's in my blood as my father worked in engine building and test drove the DB5,DBS, i remember him telling how Twiggy came to buy one of the 007 cars, when she was a top model.

Also the fact that i was born in NP,probably has something to do with my affection for these beautiful cars,i now live in Npton, but my roots are in MK.
