Impulse. Compulsion. Progression.

(This is not an entertainment video.)

The Night Train runs one way only, with no round-trip tickets given. You may catch this train, if you wish, at Hell Gate Bridge, at the confluence of the Harlem, and East Rivers, in New York City. This is where the train pickups the cool-cats, itching to take the ride.

Production notes: This was a difficult video to pull off. For one thing, the NYC police department freaks out, when they see anyone video taping, anywhere near bridges around here. But unfortunately the best shot of a train crossing Hell Gate, is from a second bridge (the Triborough), that runs along side it. So the moving train had to be shot in one take - fast and inconspicuously. But even then, two police teams still stopped the shoot (on two occasions) all in the amount of time (40 min.) that it takes to walk across the bridge (but our boys in blue are on the ball!).

Also my friend John, assured me he would play the cool-cat in the cage, but then suddenly got cold feet, an hour before the shoot (that fu*ker!).

And also, that mysterious cage, in the middle of nowhere, almost always has parked cars and people crowding it. And it took days of waiting for it to be clear, and then the scene had to be shot really fast, while trying to be civil with a passerby, who was obsessed with talking about what type of new, wide-angle camera lens, he should buy for his wife's upcoming trip to Sweden! (the guy just wouldn't stop!). So this vid might look like it was a snap, but it wasn't, it was a bitch! - Jack
