Here is a roughly-edited version of what the "Empty the Shelter" event looked like Saturday, August 6th (2011). As I understand it, 97 cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs were adopted during this 12-hour adoptathon. By my estimates, that should leave less than 15 or 20 cats and dogs remaining at the shelter.

This is so uplifting. Unfortunately, not all "empty the shelter" events turn out like this. I've heard of a shelter that ran out of funding and euthanized all their animals. Just breaks my heart. However, this is very uplifting.
