Amen. I live in the south, and I can tell you first hand, if you want to meet some of the most ignorant, hate-filled, religious fanatics in all of America, you have to go not further than the south. Don't get me wrong there are a lot of nice people in the south, but there are more bigots that anywhere else in America. Except maybe Colorado Springs, Colorado. Besides I don't believe anything should be illegal unless that activity creates victims. with two consenting gay men there are no victims.

I assume Mr. Fischer uses biblical injunctions as his authority that homosexual behavior should be criminalized. If that is the case, can we assume he believes slavery should be legal since the bible finds that behavior acceptable? Perhaps he is more enlightened and feels it is unacceptable now that a person should be allowed to own another human being. I have some concern about Mr Fischer's ability to reason.

Duh, obviously we used to criminalize homosexuality. Then, we realized that we could be wrong, sought out the real knowlege, and found out how hateful those types of laws are. Why do we time and time again have to yank religion kicking and screaming into the modern day?
