Makes me want to spread a generous tablespoon of that jam on a baking powder biscuit! A couple of questions: You mentioned you "sterilized" the glass jars, how did you do that? Did you place the filled, sealed jars of jam in a boiling water path? What would you say is the shelf life of this jam?
Really enjoy your videos! Roy Lewis Atlanta, Georgia, USA

can i use oranges instead of lemons
malkea100 1 month ago
@malkea100 You can but it will affect the flavour. The tartness of lemons is a good balance to the sweetness of the blackberries so you will lose that.

does it have to be a special type of sugar or can you just use the type you put into tea and stuff like that??

@ashka5551 yes, ordinary sugar - white granulated - can be used

Hello Roy.
I sterilise jars by washing them in detergent and then put them in the oven at 120centigrade. Leave the jars in the oven until the jam pan is ready. I don't put the jars into boiling water.
Shelf life? Difficult to say but we are using jam made 2 years ago and it's still fine.
