Teenagers from across the South-East got a taste of a career with Thames Water when they visited our stand at the UK's biggest careers event for 14-to-19-year-olds.
Skills London 2008, held at Excel London, showcased a wide range of careers. We joined forces with ten of our contractors to design a huge stand which attracted hundreds of visitors throughout the three-day event.
We focused on the theme 'Who could you
be?', emphasising the wide range of careers in the engineering and water sectors.
Our stand was staffed mainly by apprentices from Thames and the other contractor companies, plus several of our graduates.
Attractions included a WaterAid pump, which visitors were invited to use.
Young people were also given the chance to play our Network Challenge game, in which they helped design a water supply network.
