I'm not involved in the organization of the ride, but I have noticed in the past few rides that there seem to be a couple of police (bike squad) on bikes accompanying the ride at the front area, and there is always a police car at the back of the ride in the downtown area. Butch has severe arthritis and can not ride a bike at all. I'm 65 now.
