T-55 (The Parola Tank Museum demonstration day)

Museum visitors were able to have a paid ride by this tank to experience crew working environment which was on that day a bit dusty. The Finnish army is not using T-55 battle tanks anymore.

This T-55 is from DDR army. Not Finnish army.

@ThinkVantage100 This is a later model, which you can see for instance from the crew hatches with a "raised platform". Very small details, really. This exact model was never in use in Finland.

@lehtorja This specific tank most likely never used in Finland, indeed. I do not have time now go into history but I guess this tank belongs to one company arranging 'adventure travel' experiences and tank history could linked somewhere in DDR/Poland etc.

Main battle tank is Leopard 2 A4.

From my understanding last training for T-55Ms was provided 2002/3 so we should not talk large scale usage anymore.

@Miko19691 That tank was bought in mid-2000, however Finland used some T-55M. They also bought Czech-built VT-55A recovery tanks from ex-DDR stock's

Yes, they are bought from DDR. I can remember there were DDR signs in the tanks.
