This is probably the most unique Hermit crab display in the world!! They supplied transparent plastic shells for the Hermit crabs so that visitors can see inside the shell.
I have been to almost all the major aquariums in the US and Japan, but this display of Hermit crab at Himeji City aquarium (Japan) is probably one of a kind.

  • Let me guess. 30 people thought this was cruel in some way, god damn people are overly sensitive these days.

  • Whahaha, so creative!! I've seen one in the wild though that had crawled into a tin can! To bad I didn't have a camera back then... :(

Welcome to the Internet, little friend. I found your Hermit Crab Shells in a quick Google search: glassshell[dot-com] (because apparently I can't post links). I can't guarantee anything about this site. I've never seen it before. But if you want a clear shell, there it is.

  • I refused to look at this cuz it was short, but now I did! Coool., naked crabs!

  • Does anyone know where I could get/make these shells??? HELP!

  • press nine and listen to the little kid .... but f*!@#

  • @rawrforbeans how original

  • Hey awesome! Now I can see what happens inside! So iy clutches the shell with its body... I guess that's one way of doing it...

  • @Trustthapo fortunately the pet shop does not paint the shells as the shells it self has many natural colour. . Yeah we should prevent any bad things that can to effect animals' life

  • @yukiharvestfans You should never buy pet hermit crabs with painted or decorated shells, as the paint can kill them, prevent them from leaving the shell, and molting if the paint gets stuck to them. Please spread the word, bro- these animals can live for more than 20 years, but pet stores often get you to buy cheap plastic containers and dyed sand that will only kill your crab.
