Nice track from keyboard player Tim Heintz. It's called 'Dear Jacqui". As an artist, sideman, songwriter, composer, and programmer, Tim has blended his background in jazz, rock, R&B and church music to be known as one of the most versatile musicians in the LA music business.
Becoming known as a go-to session musician during the '80s and '90s, his work as a keyboardist and synth programmer was always in demand, working for artists as diverse as Jessica Simpson, Al Jarreau, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Natalie Grant, Aretha Franklin, and Barry Manilow. Tim's creative efforts also led to him being involved in many projects as an arranger and songwriter. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Lee Ann Rimes (Desperate Housewives Soundtrack), Sara Evans and the Warren Bros (the film "Where the Heart Is"), John Tesh, George Benson and many others. As a film composer, Tim has contributed music to box-office hits like "Enemy of the State", "One Hour Photo", and "Gone in 60 Seconds". Tim has also written, produced, and arranged music for hundreds of TV and radio commercials, Disney and Universal theme parks, and several TV series.
As an artist, Tim released 5 albums during 1987-1992 in what was the fast-growing smooth jazz genre. His song "Dear Jacqui" has remained a standard in that format and is still played on radio stations around the world every day.

  • so nice to hear this again. back home in chicago, used to hear this on WNUA often. haven't heard this for at least 10 years. i worked in a record store back in the 90s and people would come in asking for a song from Tim Heintz, and i'd say "Dear Jacqui, right?' and they would nod "uh huh' and i'd have to tell them it was out-of-print. i just felt like hearing this tonight, so i thought i'd try and pull it up...lo and behold, here it is! thanx, boswell69!

  • @truthaintpretty Nice story. You're quite welcome.

  • @RunningBronchospazz I know, right! And it had no lyrics so it's like... What!?!?!

I would try humming it... Didn't help. x_x

  • @RonnieLola I tried to find this song name for years too. It doesn't help that Jacqui is spelled that way XD

  • @RunningBronchospazz They still play it! I used to hear it all the time when I was a kindergartner and I'd cry and cry and cry over it. I would contemplate changing the channel but I needed to torture myself with it.

    I was weird. ._. Ew.

But I started listening to The Wave a few months ago again and I was reminded of this song for some reason and I wondered why they wouldn't play it. One day it comes on, and I look on the "Last Played" section and I finally learned the name after ten years!

  • dont really like how it changes key at around 2:14 but a great song non the less, 5 stars

  • This is a mellow cut that relaxes the mind, if some people would take a dose of music like this maybe this world would 'nt be so F_ _ _ _ _ _ UP !

  • FINALLY i now know who play this song & 94.7 The Wave Brought Me Here.

  • @tajohnso8,

Why did you have to do this to us ? You said everything about the song, there's absolutely nothing else to say to describe this song, except PHENOMENAL.

  • what a melody, brings back so many memories...A smooth jazz masterpiece ! Thanx

  • He captured "Happiness" in a song. I can just imagine what Jacqui is like. She must be as perfect as my baby!

  • There are certain things in life that can't be compared. This is pure music from a great performer, Tim Heintz. It's simply a Masterpiece. The first time I heard that song, i felt in love with till now. Just can't keep my ears away from such melody.
