BBC comedian Liz Carr is a disabled stand up comedian. The Liverpudlian funnywoman uses her own brand of hysterically unPC humour to break down negative stereotypes surrounding disability. Prepare to be shocked!
She has a wonderful podcast on the BBC called "Ouch!" All of the episodes are available online at the BBC's website. Very enlightening and enjoyable to take part. And comforting when facing harrowing medical situations because you go in with a whole different mindset after listening, and it becomes a kind of protection against despair and worry that can consume us in those situations. Good humor can really be empowering!
She's great! I saw her the other day and yes Phuzion I know she talks about that in her act! Thats a funny joke she does! Even her Moonwalk is legendary!
It can't be that wrong 'cos Liz says so herself in her full act (and it was really funny how she did her little Michael Jackson bit too). Why is that discriminating to say she has a likeness to someone. Taking the mick out of her dissability would be discriminative but to give a look a like isn't. As for his comment on her being brave, she doesn't need to be brave, she must know how good she is. She's confident and amazing and I was terrified to be sat immediately infront of her.
I saw this lady at weekend (30 Nov 08) and she took the piss. I nearly spat my beer down my front so many times laughing. She was amazingly funny and by far the stand out act of the night. She should have been the headline not the starting act. Her full set is hilarious and my mates were just as impressed. Liz Carr is a must see.

Awesome that she doesn't let the disability get the better of her.
