A very short video demonstrating the digital fire I am currently working on.

Inspired by Pyro's powers in the X-Men movies.

  • A suggestion to make it really pop! Create a new adjustment layer on top of both the footage and the complete effect (or perhaps just the footage). And use turbulant distortion with a seperate mask around the area you want. This will give it that "distorting heat" look. I think it would really sell the effect better, make it look more realistic and blend it better with the background.

  • Good call. Though this video was actually a test for the look of the fire itself, not the compositing at all. So I didn't over-do the comp work so you can judge the actual fire better, without distraction by distortion or such. But for the real thing ultimately, your idea would fit indeed.

  • As long as you have enough rupees.

  • Might have to play around with the effect a bit. Punch up the "complexity" to 10 or a little less.

  • it kinda seems to go sideways... yeah it does

  • Hi haven't spoken in a while. i like this this is very good. Is there going to be a tutorial? Great work. Keep it up.

  • nice

  • nice!

  • Still you should have made it with the perspective rule in your hand

  • Not if the blast itself gets bigger.
