@mrcisme Actually you do the exact same ting on a shot bag. You can focus on stretching only, but you can form the same puckers around the edge of the sheet and can be shrunk out as well. Likewise for the use of a tree stump with a shallow bowl for forming.

I am just wondering what its the benefits of this product over using a 12'' lead shot bag to shape the metal? Just to me the size of this puck makes the user need to be more careful in striking and where to strike on the puck. Possibly a larger puck with a larger bowl would have some use??

@mav4687: A shot bag is primarily for stretching metal. The main purpose of the TuckPuck® is for shrinking metal. It is important to strike the metal in the appropriate area of the TuckPuck®. It can be used to stretch metal as well. It depends on where you place your hits.It is a dual purpose tool. I really don't believe that a larger size would be of any benefit. The high crown is for aggressive shrinking. The low crown would be about what you would have with a larger diameter. For less shrink

The mallet is made from the same type material as the TuckPuck. It is UHMW (ultra high molecular weight) polyethylene. I will be adding mallets to my product line in a few weeks.

why are all these demos done with aluminium and not panel steel? steel doesnt shrink that easily especialy cold, unless you have one of those cool edge shrinkers. still like shotbags though, but these look cool.

The TuckPuck works just as well on steel and even works on stainless steel. Actually all of my tests when I designed this tool were done using steel. I just happened to have a disk of aluminum handy when I shot the first part of the video.

This is not the entire video. It is three and a half minutes of a 30 minute video. There were no dents in the finish piece. You wouldn't judge someones food before it was finished cooking would you? Well, maybe you would.
