I think I read somewhere that when Meteorites strike the earth they are infact very cold as space is insanely cold even going threw our atmosphere the extreme cold temperatures in space wouldn't heat it up as is presented in this video.

What's on fire? Meteorites don't catch fire because they are made of rock or other hard substance. If it was made of wood, it would be on fire, but as far as I know, there have never been any wood meteorites...
