Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati; Wastewater Engineering Building, has achieved LEED Gold Certification.

As LEED accredited professionals, Vivian Llambi & Associates (Landscape Architects) collaborated with an integrated team, focusing on sustainable site improvements for the 1.67 acre industrial site. VLA's contribution to achieving LEED points included design of a 550 s.f. rain garden and 6,800 s.f. vegetated roof planting for Stormwater Design Quantity Control; the vegetated roof for Reduction of Heat Island Effect; vegetated open space comprises 21% of this urban site to Maximize Open Space; use of native and adapted plants promote biodiversity for Restoration of Habitat; and use of native/adapted plants to Eliminate Use of Potable Water for Irrigation.
