*sorry the audio/video is just slightly out of sync*
This is another cover recording i made, vocal was added later of course. Same setup as my last video, my trusty 1994 G&L Legacy is plugged into a Sansamp GT2 and then into a Fender Blues Deluxe amp, with a TC G-major 2 in the eff loop. I hope this video helps anyone trying to learn how to play this song. I may put up slower versions later on if you guys show interest. Enjoy, like, comment or whatever!

  • Well, this is a smashing effort! Well done. (And to learn this by ear - hats off man. I tried learning Sugar Mama by Taste by ear, it was hard..) Nice guitar and amp too.

  • @ExtravaganzaBullshit that's some great "taste", which version do you play? I like the Basel version.

  • Great job. ***** Sherrill

  • @BluesMannus @BluesMannus Thanks! Out of all the groups I've heard, I think Taste did the best job of marrying heavy blues with jazz (and folk). My favourite versions are: Isle of Wight, Stockholm and one from Belgian TV in 1969, called 'Taste-Sugar Mama 1969' uploaded by meisenring. This absolutely takes the cake. Even through the poor quality, it freezes your blood.

  • Friend, you MUST make a slower version of this great piece. Thank you so much for sharing this, and keep up the good work!

  • yeah, very nice!! but how did you record the whole thing? mikes all over the room? how did you manage to get the song on tape or hdd?

  • Excellent !

  • oh my !!-= great playing on another one of my favorites !!
