What you say is BULL. Gay marriage will not affect gender at all! People will still want to be their respected genders no matter what. You are speaking out of ignorance and hate. Many states, and other countries have gay marriage and are doing perfectly fine with no problems at all. Gender identity has NOTHING to do with sexuality psychologists will tell you. If you are against gay marriage then don't have one but that should not affect someone else. I agree with jwwindsor! You are homophobic.
@janecanblog This isn't about the "law". This about the whole scope of being human, of being a man and a woman. If you think there's nothing peculiar about a man and about a woman, you're pretty much throwing what makes us human out the door. We exist because there's male and female, because we can love each other that deeply. The law and even the constitution have yet to recognize the significance of that - when it was made, there was no question about that! Now we do question our very selves.
I hope that someday we -do- become a country that completely disregards gender... and skin color... and sexuality... and economic status... and religion.
Then maybe we will actually live in a country that treats all it's people equally, like our constitution says we should.

Well, Jane...
When VAWA is rescinded and women and men are TRULY treated
(and treat EACH OTHER as equals), then we'll know for sure.

I don't see the problem here.
