Monitor staff photographer Ann Hermes was in Wisconsin on Saturday, March 12, to cover a local farmers 'tractorcade' to the Wisconsin state capital in Madison.
Solidarity with these great Americans! Solidarity with working people all over the world! The idea of revolution is spreading, and everywhere workers are standing up for themselves again. The plutocracy cannot exploit us forever!
Last week, the federal government reported that the U.S. trade deficit grew by 33 percent in 2010 to nearly half a trillion dollars. Most of the gap resulted from an imbalance in trade with China, which shipped $365 billion in goods to America but only bought $92 billion in U.S. goods. The resulting U.S. deficit of $273 billion in bilateral trade. This is not fair trade is it. China has a very lax-ed environmental rules and poverty wages. In other words doesn’t compete fairly, This must stop.
The reality is that the U.S. manufacturing sector is in free fall, threatening a core engine of our economy and threatening to lower wages further for workers in our nation. And this is just part of a more general crisis, at home and globally, of falling wages undermining global demand and further weakening the overall economy. We must have fair trade and rules followed fairly, globally.
Yet They do it in USA, illegal donation came up during a parliamentary budget committee meeting last week. Maehara initially said he didn't know about it, but later acknowledged that his office accepted a 50,000 yen ($590) donation from a longtime supporter, an ethnic Korean resident of Japan whom he had known since childhood, and apologized.Japan's political funding law prohibits lawmakers from accepting donations from foreigners even if they are Japanese residents or born in Japan
Chinese importers, in conjunction with the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, have ironically formed a lobbying front group ironically named American Coalition for Free Trade in Tires. The coalition is run by Jochum, Shore & Trossevin, a Washington D.C. lobby firm run by former Bush trade officials who are cashing in on their years of U.S. government service to advise foreign competitors. The law firm has used its ties to power to advise Chinese manufacturers on how to get around loopholes in the law

"In our hands is placed a power greater than their hoarded gold,
Greater than the might of armies magnified a thousand-fold,
We can bring forth a new world on the ashes of the old,
For the Union makes us strong."

China is using unfair trade practices to create jobs in its clean energy technology sector and get a permanent edge on U.S. manufacturers.
