that's true. i've heard of a swordsman who defeated his opponents with a wooden sword called "tekkamitsu" i think. i've heard of a sword named after a swordsman called myamoto. they also named some of their early rifles after him too. because they were as deadly as he was. can't say i recall the kid though. ^^

in any case, jubei is the stuff of legends who, like dracula, lost reality at some point and became fantasy. he spawned many manga, books, characters, and let's not forget movies (most notably portrayed by my all time favorite actor Sonny Chiba in Samurai Resurrection which is said to be the basis of the game Samurai Shodown...if you've seen it and played the game, you'd understand). Sorry about ranting... lol just a little info on a favorite subject of mine.

read a little guys. though Jubei Yagyu in any game is fictional, he is based on a real person. He was a famed swordsman who's family was the shoguns decapitator. The family's also famous for creating the sword fighting style Yagyu Shinkage-ryu. There was a moment in his life where he sorta fell off the map and all sorts of legends came from it; he was given a powerful sword created by the famous Hatori Hanzo and went hunting demons and ghosts (samurai shodown and onimusha) or just trained 24/7.

acctually yagyu jubei kibagami was a considerd to be a real person. although he didn't fight with with two swords like they have him doing in samurai showdown.
