I hear this, and it is sooooooo beautiful, it brings tears to my eyes, and a celebration to my soul, I love TRinidad & Tobago, THis is my country!! I love you!!!
This is soooo sweet i am sitting at my desk wining up a storm in office chair. I hope i don't break it. Man is is what you call hot trini music. I truly miss home. One luv always
rudeboy you have no idea what you are talking about. rhythm is not african. the drum is not african. yes africans have drums and it is a huge part of their culture. but the drum is an instrument of most culture. look at native americans. they had their own drums way before europe even went there. the trinidad rhythm is NOT an african rhythm. it is influenced from africa thats for sure. but also from india and latin america and all the other cultures becuase trinidad is a melting pot of cultures.
I would agree to if i did disagree with u- but i dont- i agree w/ u. its u who disagrees w/ me. I understand the blend of the cultures that make up Trinidad musik. but i also understand AFRICAN PRIMACY- the firstness of tings African. Study Indian history- where did the first settlers of the Indian subcontinent come from? where did their knowledge of the drum&rhythm come from? U should study some physical anthropology and understand taht we are sayin the same thing eille.
Im trini also, n i sure u learnt in school dat most of music are affected by blends of our culture. n i sure u saw d white guy in d front, n i know personally dat it hv douglas in d laventille riddim section...N riddim is found in all not only africans (hv u not listened to tassa. i think it best we shud agree to disagree.
