@grandchamp8 heel-striking when running is for amateurs and mankind developed this from wearing thick-soled, cushioned shoes. Everyone heel strikes when walking. Toes is a bad way to describe it. More popular teminology is forefoot striking or forefoot running, some people call it midfoot. It is when you land first with the ball of your foot (forefoot), and then after that your heel will come down and lightly contact or "kiss" the ground. It's the most efficient, injury-free way to run!
I don't run heal-to-toe either. Mid-foot strike is where it's at. Not only can I keep it up for 26.2 miles, but it's the only thing that finally got rid of my shin splints after many useless visits to specialists didn't help.
i run a 4:32 mile and ill tell you that i don't run heel to toe. as a matter of fact, neither does my cross country team which is ranked 4th in the state. heel to toe is a bio-mechanically inefficient motion that also wears away are joints and fatigues you faster.
@christopher6049 Like your joking? I run i know this? No one runs on there toes for 26.2 miles? or any kind of distance lol my god. Walk into any fleet feet or fit to run ask them? They put u on a treadmill and tape you run then pick the shoe for you. I ran heel toe they said perfect form.
ur guys are joking? Its called heel toe for a reason. He's not running a 100 or 200. He is running distance, there for on your toes, doesnt apply. Who runs on their toes for distance? please tell me?
