I just happened to find out why the Beast looks like that when he appears on Beauty's balcony-I was watching the original version of this, Jean Cocteau's 1946 La Belle et la Bete, and in the prologue it states that when the beast kills something, his hands smoke, which causes him shame and pain when a woman is in his home. Pretty interesting, and now you know something new. *^_^*
