Thank you for the very nice comments. Really, I was just doing what anyone would or should have done when I found Pi-Chi. As far as knowledge, I got it as I was going. I guess, I tried to take care of him like I would have taken care of a baby human: with love, patience and determination. I'm lucky that he survived, though. He lived with me for a whole year then left the house in May (mating season for sparrows), two days before his (estimated) birthday. All I can do is hope that he made it...

What a beautiful person you sound to be Ledemonnoir.. I must commend you on your knowledge on how to take care of such a beautiful creature! I am so impressed. I love baby sparrows... though, i see it has been a year ago... how is the little fella? What an adorable little find, god bless him.
And thank you for sharing your beauty. (in words) :)

Interesting, first time he starts to eat without the tube feeder

Thank you both for your nice comments. I am just trying to be the best person I can be. I believe that, when we come across another living being who is completely defenseless and whose life is threatened, it is our responsibility to do whatever is in our power to save that life.

This is so great. I am thrilled to find such a set of videos. You have a wonderful soul for being so full of care for this little creature. I think I will attempt to find meal worms for sale in my area. I have been feeding the tiny sparrow I found crushed millet seeds, and some water-soaked cat food. I am just afraid that his little throat will not get the food down and he will choke. Maybe he is more resilient than I believe.

Pet shops sell feeders specifically designed to push food down a bird's throat the same way a mother would bird would feed her baby. I am using one of these on the video above. Please try to find one. Watch out to not overfeed the baby. Its stomach cannot process a lot. If the baby stops cheeping and opening his beak, then he is full.
