  • Hello Lena,I'm an irish set dancer, who am just stunned at how good, but different these guys are! And I saw Anders Trabjerg playing in a pub in Gort in Galway, and have never been able to find him since! Where does he play for gods sake, and how do I get to hear him again! By the way, you've got to go to Tulla Music festival, Clare Sept 08 for great set dancing Or anything in Clare really ! Love,

    Geraldine

  • I´m told that you possibly can find Anders i Ti Coili, Taffes, Pucan or Crane Bar in Galway.

Never tried Tulla but attend Willie Clancy Summer School on a regular basis.

    Best wishes!

    Lene

  • I apologize!

I must have been a little tired when I wrote the credits.

Of course his name is Jonas Fromseier. - A great danish banjo player living in Galway.

  • The accordion Anders is using here has one row of 10 keys in D, plus a partial row of 3 in C#, so it's a D/C#. It has 8 sets of reeds (for volume!) and was made to be played in Irish-American dance-halls before there was amplification.

  • class stuff, iv danced to some of these guys in galway city,Anders and Jonas.

brilliant music and mighty dancing, well done, gerard butler

  • This is a D-melodeon. Single row-style diatonic accordion.

  • What system of accordion does Anders use?

  • I don't think I've seen a Sligo/Roscommon Lancers danced in maybe 30 years (though I'm sure it's been revived now, along with all the other sets). It was the night that I went with Seamus Tansey to a dance he was playing for in Riverstown and I was amazed to find the youngsters jiving to his reel playing, whilst he spent half the night singing waltzes for the older people, but I remember them doing the Lancers too!

  • You must have been getting confused with my friend Anders Trabjerg, here playing his incredibly loud 8-voice Baldoni, Bartoli accordion. I had to play very loudly myself, to be heard with him in Miltown Malbay this year!

  • anybody noware i can find the roscommon lancer?!?

    dis is gr8 too!!
