Since 2005 on November 9th in German-speaking countries, Inventor's Day has been held in honor of Hedy Lamarr and her invention. That would have been her 90th birthday.

  • Great video, but you got Hedy's birthday wrong. She was born 1913, not 1915. She was born in Vienna Austria. Her original name was Hewig Eva Kiesler. Hedy lived Nov. 9, 1913 to January 19, 2000, aged 86 years. Read about her on Wikipedia. Interesting.

  • @SteffiReitsch actually she was born in 1914 but she wanted people to believe she was born in 1915 so i went with her wish. after all it was her birthday.

  • what is the title of this Viennese Waltz? I'd love to learn it in honor of Ms. Lamarr.

  • It's actually a German Waltz: Brahms' Waltz in A-flat Major. But I used to call it Viennese Waltz because every time I listen to Hedy's playing it in her movie "Crossroad (1942)", it makes me feel very Viennese.

  • This is a beautiful waltz dedicated to the most beautiful woman on the screen, the beutiful Hedy Lamarr. Thank you for you rememberance Ann.

  • Apparently she was a musician and an inventive engineer too. So, quite the all round rennaissance girl.

  • I'd love to know the secrets Betty Davis would have to say about The Hollywood Machine and how it treated her!

  • Excellent compilation. Thanx!
