This movie has so many levels. You can look at it now the way, if it has like some prophety of our times, when people go and get some implants under their skins just for "succes" their lives. Or you can look at it trough old man's eyes, who retrospectively sees the "blind spots" in his past life. And more...
I love this movie (the wine vat scene really sucked) and I love the part when Rock Hudson's name comes up right at the eye-invoking a flashback to Maurice Binder's opening credits to the Roman Polanski film "Repulsion" the year before.
Brilliant opening for a brilliant and terrifying movie. You'll never think of Rock Hudson the same again.
EVER.

I think the makers of 'Alien Resurrection' were inspired by this intro sequence.

The film is forgotten masterpiece. RIP Frankenheimer Frankenheimer and Hudson (aka Roy Fritzgerald.)
