These are terrible things to experience, but awesome to watch. Like tornados or lightning strikes. Cool to watch, but wouldn't want to be in one.

Lightning FX in this clip were with the IVY Mike test of 1952. The fireball was 4.25 miles wide, left a tapering crate 175 ft deep, and 1 mi wide where a sandspit Elugelab used to be.
The commanders (L to R): Bob Gibney (fuel cryogenics), Colonel Richard Lunger (test range security and firing), and Stan Burriss (instruments)

Thanks, I was pretty sure it was MIKE but there wasn't any documentation with the clip and NEIL has been observed on other shots notably CASTLE BRAVO.
