Gary South gave me the idea for this back in the 80's. I then worked on the idea with Denny Bertin and Ric Page as a part of a musical we were working on with Spyros Melaris. It then got adapted for another musical with the help of Phil Ryan and a possible commercial under the guidance of Miquel Brown. I now have this version performed by myself and Amanda de Grey. It was all shot in Wycombe. I have ahown the guitar chords and lyrics (below) so that people might play it, (especially Gary)
Same Sun Shines On Everyone

We all feel the need to belong
We all want the freedom to choose
We should never be afraid to be wrong
'Cos you win some but some you must lose
Everyone in this life must feel pain
We feel pleasure and sadness we have fun
Everyone has to walk in the rain
Though we aim one day to walk in the sun
It's the same sun shines on everyone
Everybody in the world wants to be happy and free
It's the same sun lights all our skies
And if you open your eyes
Maybe you'll see
That you have only one life
And it won't last forever
So never say never
'Cos we're in this together

It's the same sun that shines on everyone
Everybody in the world wants to be happy and free
It's the same sun that shines on everyone
It's the same sun that shines
On you and me

    It's ready to record Dave.

  • Dave, I love your songs :))

  • Since Dave has done such a good job with this song I have rewritten my original version and it's now called I Still Haven't Written That Love Song For You. Watch this space amigos.

  • I was having a drink after hours in Harefield Squash Club with an old boy called Peter Brindley. This would have been about 1982. We got talking football and then racism, this being the era when Liverpool supporters threw bananas at John Barnes. Peter took a pull on his pipe, leaned into my face and said the immortal words "Do you know Gary it's the same sun that shines on all of us?".

I went home and wrote a song called The Same Sun Shines On All Of Us, played it to

Dave and he took the idea

  • Can do with a few smiles :)

  • Good darts Dave.
